The night had just begun. Felix and his group of friends gathered tonight at The Onyx. One of the higher end bars in the city with an amazing view of it. They all hugged the balcony with a drink in hand. Felix inhaled his cigarette as everyone chattered around him. His gaze was fixed on the night sky not really listening to the questions being asked around him. It was a cloudless night and almost starless given the light pollution but tonight was different. To Felix it seemed like he was the only one that noticed, the only one that wasn’t caught up in the party, the music, and the rhythm of their bodies thumping to it. What he saw amazed him. Across the sky, celestial stars, where falling towards the Earth. Long streaks of smoke followed a bright ball of fire. Felix in awe, forgot about his cigarette, that now stung the top of his fingers, he flicked it over the balcony and looked at Sarah, Horst, Abe, & Mehlis, they all stared up into the sky, it seemed that others at the bar began to notice as well. Arms began to be raised, fingers pointing to the sky poking out to the unknown, Felix could see the amazement in everyone’s expression, with a hint of terror.

If only he wasn’t smoking Felix thought, if only instead of looking North he looked South. Maybe he would’ve seen, just maybe, he would’ve known what was going to happen.

The night in an instant turned from a blissful night out to an utter horror scene from a 2007 sci-fi movie. The comets hit the buildings around them. Bursting through skyscrapers and engulfing them in flame. Felix only caught a glimpse of yellow and red across his vision when a burst of air slammed him against the balcony glass. His head snapped backwards, his ears ranged but the screams around him pierced through the ringing sound. He looked over to find his friends but could not.

The world was filled with disarray, bodies littered the floor and destruction littered the The Onyx, it was struck by one of the rocks falling out of the sky but Felix barely recovering from the blast coming from the impact lost meaning in his surroundings, he tried on focusing finding his friends. 10 ft away he did find them, all but Abe..

He struggled to get up and slugged his way over to them, but failed once a body fell right in front of him. It’s head smashed in and limbs twisted, before he could yell out in horror, a screech tore the through the night. An ungodly, inhuman, sound came from the depths of The Onyx. It made his skin crawl.
