True Calm

The warm summer breeze wisps through my hair like a hug. It is gently lifting my hair from the back of my neck, warm but cooling. The blades of grass in the gentle wind rustle in unison, whilst the nearby baby birds in a tree chirp away. This glorious field is a sight to the eyes, a huge sheet of green, with just a scattering of daisies And trees to break it up. In the distance, an old rickety fence divides the sheet of green with a sheet of yellow. Golden rolls sit on that field beyond, and no cars to be seen or heard. Overhead the sun beams down, And the few trees in the field cast their giant shadows. The sky is a rich vibrant blue, with just a few small fluffy clouds. A bird of prey soars high above, calling as it hunts. All my stresses and worries drift away almost as if the clouds that are drifting across the sky are carrying them away. I tilt my head towards the warming sun, eyes closed, just listening. This is true calm and complete tranquility.
