Love is like a fire, burning brightly in your soul,

And when a loss extinguishes, you never feel quite whole.

We feel a little slower, not as strong as we have been,

The loss will take a toll and feel like we've run out of steam.

Fires big and small always keep the soul alight,

The rich red skinned Apple hangs on the tree, shining in the sun, appealing to all who see it.

Children long to eat it, but it hangs just out of reach.

Then one morning, a gust of wind twists the stalk just enough to snap it.

The darkening sky drew closer,

As the daytime turned to night.

The raging heat of the last few days,

A place so full of wonder,

Notebooks are such wonderful things,

There is no right or wrong,

Fill them up with fantasy, some poems or some songs.

A way to store the lists and chores,

And memories that come by,

Doodles in the corners,

A recipe for Apple pie.

Some paints or just a pen,

Fill them up on every page,

Then look back through them again.
