Running
Kurt is very good at running. It’s in his nature and it’s his power. To disappear. To hide. To run. Running kept him safe. Running kept him alive.
But this time it’s different.
Kurt’s always been alone. For such a social butterfly, it was incredibly difficult to find friends. Possibly because of his blue skin and yellow eyes. And the tail.
But now he stands before a white haired woman who looks at him so desperately. Her large, black eyes peer into his soul. Her brows perfectly furrowed and her lip’s pursed like she wants to say “don’t go”.
Kurt’s always been an outcast. But even now, he’s an outcast among outcasts. He’s made his final mistake.
He can’t meet her eyes as he feels her hand losen it’s grip on his arm. He clenches his fist and his tail lowers to the ground.
“…I’m sorry.” He whimpers out as he hangs his head, eyes shut tight. “I can’t be what you need.”
Ororo releases his arm and he slowly steps toward Maddi, placing his hands upon her shoulders. She only stares at Ororo with those haunting, black holes im her face. Kurt glances back at the woman who gave them a home. A purpose. Friendship. Comradory. And with a puff of black and purple smoke, the two vanish.
