Young women aspire

To be that image

To be that light, that thunder

But behind that steely exterior

Lies the most broken of girls

She smiles so others have hope

While her will crumbles with every step she takes

She just wants to belong

So she provides a home to all

So she’ll be there to catch them when they fall

Because she has fallen too many times

On hard ground

With her limbs bleeding

And her heart reeling

Because the ones she thought were hers

Never really cared much

She will go on

Carrying that mask

Because she fakes it till she makes it

But what if it takes

Too much

What if she falls

once more

She will stand up taller

With a thousand behind her
