POEM STARTER
Compose a poem that starts with an idiom.
Idioms are common, sometimes metaphorical sayings such as ‘it’s raining cats and dogs’, and ‘love at first sight’. Which idiom will you use to set the theme for your poem?
Just Go
Actions speak louder than words
When you say you care and are there
But never bothered to show up
It’s like a fire that burns my skin
Killing me slowly while you still pretend
Wouldn’t it be better to give it up
To drop your act and finally leave
That way this fire can cool
And while the scars will remain
I can finally be at peace
