Well…wish me luck, I’m entering this in a poetry contest! :) I hope you guys enjoy the poem, it took a little bit to write! And also if anyone has any critiques I would really appreciate it since I’m entering this in a contest this weekend!

The stars smile upon us

And know when we’re full moon

The heavens know of death

And smell bloodshed and doom

They feel a heart grow heavy

I feel in my heart typhoons

The stars smile upon us

It’s all sad, bittersweet

Many lives end like this

Having many woes to beat

To end up like this now

The end nigh, I take a seat

The stars smile upon us

They say sinners do bleed

They track us down, hunt us

But I’ve never felt more freed

The hunting was before

And now it ceases to be

The stars smile upon us

They’re upset that some blame

Point to us for their ache

Try to pin us with their shame

Too bad they can’t do so

We didn’t leave Earth in vain

The stars smile upon us

Sad seeing us leave home

But glad to see us rise

No more taking one's own bone

My mind may be less heavy

But those who cared now feel alone

The stars smile upon us

My ache comes back and shows

I used the scythe too soon

I left holes and you can’t sew

I tainted all your love

Poisoned those who saw me go

The stars smile upon us

I regret so many things

But you aren’t on that list

Sorry you drowned in my sea

I wish I could change it

I know you care, Hear my plea

The stars smile upon us

So don’t do it, don’t jump

I wish I could come back

I know your heart feels slump

But keep that flame alive,

Don’t drop it just yet

Hold it high…

And never ever look back
