Golden Beach
Water is lapping between your chin and neck, each wave colliding to the beat of your heart. You could almost drown in the deep blue ocean water. No one is around this vision of the beach. The sun is crisp, an orangey golden, just about to take a nice dip in the ocean. All you can see is the water and waves surrounding you. The beach is far behind, in the shadows of the evening.
You can choose. Go back to the beach, or stay
Go back: You turn from the sun, letting the golden light shine on your back. It feels warm and nice, with the perfect tempered water. You can barely glance back and see the cozy sand beach, with palm trees surrounding. They sway at an easy tempo, back and forth. The water rises and falls, finding its way to ease at your chest. It stays at your chest for several minutes. You feel the heat leave as the sun is done for the day. A small breeze comes in, chilling your wet back. The beach is only some feet away. The water brushes against your waist. The waves are less eminent is there crashing. You feel at peace once you step on the dry sand. It's warm and sticks to your salty water feet.
Stay: The rippling water finds its way towards your mouth, rising higher and higher. You let a drop seep into your lip, cold but salty. It bobs up close to your nose, with a few specks blocking your breath. You suck in one last breath before you dunk your head under the water. It's cold, almost like an ice bath. Your eyes pop open, feeling the ting of the oceans salt water. You get chills from the coldness of the ocean, but it feels nice. When you come back up for air, the sun has taken its toll for the day. The moon is peeping from the other side of the ocean. You turn back to see how far the beach is. Every way you turn there's endless bodies of water. No palm trees to be in sight. You feel a rush of nervousness, but it leaves as soon as you dunk in again. The water calms you, despite the freezing temperatures.
