A dance of sheer persuasion

An eternal ebb and flow

One rises to the occasion

As the other dips below

The sun with heart a-blazing

Takes long smart strides, profound

The moon watchful, coy and nervous

Just keeps tip-toeing around

Though no words are exchanged

The moon’s accompaniment of stars

Works to snatch the sun’s attention

Lest she fall in love with Mars

The sun beams with blush ferocious

Impressed and flattered greatly

Though their distance feels atrocious

Their love persists innately

The sun whispers to the moon

“May stars guide us as you guide the sea”

The moon sighs, “though our light is one,

It is you who illuminates me”
