Apple

The rich red skinned Apple hangs on the tree, shining in the sun, appealing to all who see it.

Children long to eat it, but it hangs just out of reach.

Then one morning, a gust of wind twists the stalk just enough to snap it.

That beautiful apple drops to the ground, ready And in reach for a willing mouth to eat it.

The pidgeons come into the garden for the thrown out crusts.

One of them spies the rich red apple, lying amongst the green grass blades

Curious, the bird wanders over and pecks at the apple, but decides against it.

Days turn into a week, and the damaged apple starts to rot. No longer desired, it deteriorates into the ground below.

Eventually, the apple is no more. In it's place, a vibrant green shoot pokes out of the ground.

That shoot turns into a tree, and one summer, there it is, a rich red skinned apple, just out of reach.
