Untold Delight
A beautiful silence spoke through us
Flower blossoms found their confidence and peeked out from their buds
The trees giggled as we wandered across the chilled meadow
The Wilderness screamed for our attention
Our feet were bare as our footsteps lingered on the soft carpet of grass
A charade of birds glided swiftly through the frost filled air
The outraged mountains rose to their full height and called us to a war
The wind danced to a love song
We were met with the delight that bestowed each of us
His hand was fastened in mine
His lips were painted in eagerness
His arms were wrapped adoringly around my back
A lovely contentment swarmed around us
A blissful trust was setting in stone
It was a phantom, a mystery
All of the wild stared in impatience
His eyes were an ocean
and the fear of a freezing fall
suddenly crashed over the edge
In a split second, the wilderness was within me
No longer could I see the leaves flapping in the wind
No longer were the birds dancing throughout the sky
They were deep inside me
There was a fluttering in my stomach
I heard the faraway yet intoxicating roar of a lion,
but this time, the trembling came from within me
I heard the echoing laughter of the royal oak trees
Butterflies swam around in the oasis of my eyes
The magic of it all was electrifying
It was a blatant yet beautiful chapter in a book
My eyelids dropped and my mindlessly blue eyes were a storm of delight
It was an illegal love, but a love nonetheless
The wild was within me, and for once, my mind was a novel
A love story
(I wrote this a few months ago, but I thought that it kinda worked with the prompt, so I pulled it out, dusted it off, and changed a few parts, I hope y’all like it!)
