POEM STARTER

Write a winter Pantoum.

A pantoum is a poem where each stanza is 4 lines, and the second and fourth line of each stanza are repeated as the first and third lines of the next. As this creates a lot of repetition, try to pick a winter theme that would benefit from emphasis of certain lines.

Snowdrops And Elves

Welcome to Winter, a season of cold

Where the snowdrops fall like nations of old

Go sledding with friends, your fortune’s untold,

But beware of the snowballs that they have just rolled

Where the snowdrops fall like nations of old

Lies the city of Elves at the North Pole

But beware of the snowballs that they have just rolled

For the Elves are as sneaky as they are gold
