Daydreams

Magical days never wasted

A bright world ready to embrace us

Happiness lingers in the spaces between

What has happened and what has yet to be seen

Never allowing fear to lead us astray

Instead we continue on our own way

Afraid but staying true

To the dreams that complete you

Quite the contrary indeed

expectations not exactly exceeded

From sweet to bitter

Days seem to dull any glitter

Time moves on

And so we carry on

Mundane days slipping through calloused fingers

Worn out daydreams linger

Muffled screams barely escaping

Over the consistent sounds of another soul breaking

Barely scraping by

How did we not notice how fast the time fly’s?

Surely there’s time before all dreams die?
