Death, no matter what they tell you, is not a creature. It is not even an object or a physical thing. It is simply an event,

one that happens to us all eventually. However, these events are not all the same. Some die from a body that gave up, others die from bullets or bombs. But there is one way to die that is considered one of the most terrible. To drown is to lose your freedom of movement and of life slowly, trying not to let the water into your lungs, but but by bit, it engulfs you. That is the fate of many souls now. Drowning on nothing but their own breath, slowly being crushed under the water pressure on dry land. I knew we never should have began to “purify” the oceans. All the world’s officials decided that if we could get rid of the salt from the ocean, it would make it possible to eliminate world dehydration. They called it purification. As a witch, I knew what would happen. We believe that salt is a powerful sealant of magical energy. We also believe that everything is where it is for a reason. They never thought about the consequences of their actions. Only I did. But what could I do? I wear quartz, I burn rosemary. I am safe. And yet I mourn. When they took the salt from the water, they unleashed Drown upon the world. Before, it was only water that could drown a man. But now? All can drown. All will drown, eventually. That is just death’s way. So perhaps I should not mourn. For not only are they merely dying, but they brought this upon themselves.
