reviews of “hangover days”

“Robbie Masso’s debut full-length poetry book “hangover days” is, in one word, raw. It is not for children, but for people with addiction, people with anxiety, people with depression, and people who are on the fringe of society. It is relatable to them, but scary for the majority.”

“Masso writes as if he matters more than the average man. He believes that the world revolves around himself, an unknown poet from New Jersey who can’t land a publishing deal. There is a typo on the first page. Maybe if an editor saw anything worthwhile in this self-serving angst the typo would have been caught, since Masso is too lazy to spot and fix it.”

“”hangover days” is a torch-passing poetry book from Bukowski himself. Many have tried to write as open, but have failed. Many have tried to write those slow burn one-liners, but have failed. Many have tried to write genuinely about their struggles, but have failed. Masso has not failed. A bright career is upon us.”

“If I wanted to read Bukowski, I would read Bukowski. Find your own voice, Masso. Word of advice, you won’t find it in the bottom of a beer bottle.”

“I cringed a lot while reading “hangover days”, but I am still unsure if it was caused by good or bad poetry.”

“Masso either writes drunk and edits sober, or vice versa. I am intrigued to find out which.”
