Scare The Monsters Away

In the quiet of my room, when darkness steals the day,

Daddy would come, to chase the monsters away.

With a smile and a kiss, he'd tuck me in tight,

"Sleep well, my darling, no monsters tonight."

The closet was checked, under the bed too,

Daddy always knew just what to do.

But now, the room's cold, the night's filled with gloom,

For Daddy's gone silent, beyond the silver Moon.

Mommy tries with all her might, to keep the dark away,

But her eyes are always crying, since Daddy went away.

She holds me close, and tells me not to fear,

But it’s just not the same, I wish daddy was still here.

I look up to the sky, send Daddy a kiss into the night,

"Watch over me," I whisper, "and hold me with your light."

I hug my bear close, and try not to weep,

Wishing for Daddy, to sing me to sleep.

The stars seem so distant, the moon's lost its gleam,

And I'm left alone, with only a dream.

The night whispers softly, a lullaby hum,

Door shut tightly, might the monsters come.
