Loss

I wrote a short story earlier on my phone but forgot to save it so it was all lost when my software crashed. With a pair of concerned eyes, he leaned over to see what was wrong. I said, with tearing eyes, that I had lost everything. He watched the tear falling down from my check, and shook his head.

“Me too. If it was my father laying in that casket, I’d feel like I’ve lost everything too”.

The line moved and it was his turn to shake my sister’s hand. He patted my shoulder and said “I’m sorry for your loss,” then, walked away.
