worth it
i was a superhero, nobody knew but me and i had wanted it to stay that way. as i was running out late walking around the city, i’ve had a bad urge to return home. as i headed home, i could hear my boyfriend yelling, screaming for help. i ran inside, bashing the door open as i see my boyfriend hanging from the fifth story window of our apartment with another stranger pointing a gun at him. shouting at him he’d shoot him of he didn’t let go of the handle he was clinging onto.
within seconds, i launch myself at the attacker as he fires two bullets into my chest. but it doesn’t affect me. no matter how much you hurt me, it will never kill me. i was built like iron man, except i didn’t have a suit. i mainly used a mask to hide my face, but i didn’t have enough time to do so.
the intruder stares at me, alarmed. i reach him, throwing him off the building as i pull up my boyfriend who stares at me in shock. he was now the only person who knew i was a superhero.
i smiled at him as i wrapped my arms around him. but i was okay with him knowing. because in the end, it was worth it.
