Strive
I stand here broken, lost in despair,
Guilt weighs heavy, too much to bear.
A path of darkness, my choices have paved,
Regret echoes loudly, in silence, I'm enslaved.
My heart, aching with each soul I've hurt,
Innocence tarnished, buried beneath the dirt.
The faces haunt, the memories scar,
A monstrous shadow, I've traveled too far.
The world around me, unaware of my name,
A phantom of remorse, consumed by shame.
Redemption seems distant, an elusive shore,
Seeking forgiveness, to heal and restore.
Yet in this abyss, a glimmer of light,
Hope whispers softly, breaking the night.
To rebuild, to amend, to find a way through,
Redeeming the past, beginning anew.
So, I'll face the mirror, confront the past's reflection,
Striving to change, seeking inner resurrection.
Though stained by faults, I'll strive to be,
More than the monster I allowed myself to see.
