Eyes open

Take it all in

Sun filters through a window

Just pulling off the covers feels like a win

I wish I could go back to sleep

But my alarm won’t shut up

Now something is licking my elbow

Oh! It’s the pink little tongue of my pup

It’s too early to exist

But I’ve got to rise and shine

I stumble down the stairs

And claim the cup of coffee that’s mine

I pick out an outfit

Which takes forever and a day

My dog trots in the room smiling

Which is more than I can say

I head out the door

I haven’t got time to eat

I unlock my car

And slide into the front seat

I’m not an early bird

I’m rather a night owl

In my opinion

Waking up early is absolutely foul
