Missed The Bus

I missed the bus

I planned on leaving at two

But the clock stopped working at twelve

And suddenly I’m running

Trying to call for a ride

But I guess it never got through

I’m always there

Of course it happened today

Tims been the driver

He usually waits for me

I was only two minutes late

And yet I see him pulling away

I missed the bus

We were going to go together

But I ran two minutes late

I thought you would wait for me

But I missed the bus

And this is the third

time since September

I missed the bus

I stopped running to catch it

Or calling for a ride

Stopped hoping you’d wait

Or planning to go together

I don’t care if I miss the bus.
