STORY STARTER
Write a story from the perspective of an immortal pet as it is passed down through a family's generations.
Gold Cage
As I sit on the outside tree, in the breezy jungle I eat
Clutching this weather beaten branch, with my feet
Piles and piles of leaves lay below me, for my to lie
Protecting myself all alone here, surviving not to die
Soon I hear different kinds, of human noises coming near
A unseen white net covers my life, blocking sight and hear
This will make a great pet, for the baby little one they said
They put me in a huge gold cage, right next to the tiny bed
When the sun rises I start to sing, and talk to my new friend
The baby coos and giggles, as we start to play never to end
As we both grew up and learned the ways, of human life
I flew along side her, when she went to school with strife
I was there with her, when she graduated with a huge smile
Flying around the tabernacle, seeing cap and gowns for miles
Now she is off to start her new life, taking me and my gold cage
I still have all my beautiful feathers, as I the parrot don’t show my age
Years have passed, and she is now starting a brand new family now
So I sit in my gold cage, waiting for the new baby and to show her how
