With mushrooms and rivers

Hearing whispers of the night

Goblins and wizards

Villains and heroes

Happily ever after’s

They all have to start somewhere

We know the stories we’ve heard the legends

But they are not true

They are just imaginations

Fabricated for our enjoyment

Making reality seem bland and boring

Convincing people to escape

No one tells the tales that end in sadness

They tell the ones where the princess gets a prince

And ends in happily ever after

But those don’t exist

Leading children into believing in the unknown

That it exists

That life will be like that
