Back and forth Letter in hand Giving one a spoken secret Then returning to the other to relay the message Telling the stories of people But never living ones own life Moving as fast as light As quick as the wind Not wanting them to wait to long Making the treacherous journey Back and forth Letter to letter Message from a messenger Telling two that they love one another Wanting their love to last Wanting them to finally get together Ending the rush of the messages for them Letting the messenger rest Till his next quest of letters will appear To let two more find love through written thought Knowing the stories Knowing the secrets The messenger knows it all

School is stress Homework is anxiety Kids are bullies Making me work everyday to survive the prison sentence Forced to live 4 years in a penitentiary Cramming information down my through Having the memorize and recite Testing and quizzing on useless informational Walking through the halls is a trap Needing to blend with the crowd of hopeless Feeling like prey to the top dogs Trying to avoid them But my stems have failed Day after day then pummel me to a pulp Not wanting to repeat the cycle over and over Lost hope Nothing left for me to do but bottle up the feelings Hide the bruises and scars Lock swag in my room Listen to the depressed Cut the lines Plan the end In secret gathering supplies 1 room 1 chair 1 rope 1 me Preparing Writing a letter Saying goodbye Hiding his all in the closet Not wanting to be stopped Wanting it all to end The pain The agony The building The perfect moment approaching I am ready I am done Tying the rope Hanging it Getting the chair Placing the letter on the table Stepping up One foot Two feet on the chair Closing my eyes and taking the last breath Placing my head in the loop Opening my eyes Seeing a child in front of me A little girl A little me An angle of healing Standing in front of me Telling me not to give up Not listening shouting my eyes tight About to sort off the chair Hearing a noise A scream downstairs Ignoring it Wanting it all to be over Doing it taking the step Hanging Losing consciousness Waking up Hearing the beep of the hospital machines Monitored to be alive Given a second chance Taking that chance and throwing it away Leveling getting to my car Going home and stuffing pills down Passing out Having an out of body experience Seeing myself rushed to the hospital once again Waking up knowing nothing is working Not allowed to leave the building I walk around I see all the patients Adult Parents Grandparents The only teen Walking more Seeing a wired door that leads to another building Going through it Seeing a bunch of children That are sick that are all alone Facing hard and horrible disease Seeing them on there own So far from home Little children sitting in separate rooms After seeing this I get hope for myself Seeing a new view in life These kids are facing hardships but have smiles on their faces Having fun and living while they still can I see try and think I need to live long because they can’t I should not waist my life I must live for them Living on knowing life is still happy Even if it sucks There is still a point of living A reason A purpose To stay alive

Putting on a show Faking a smile Looking happy The kindest and happiness of people are the ones with the most hurt inside Feeling dead Not trusting anyone Letting no one in to know the true you Hidden from the world Locking everyone out Helping others when they are down and sad Wanting them to be ok Making them tell you the truth and their feelings But not telling them yours when they ask Telling them what they need but when that advice is giving to you you reject it Not letting someone get close But failing One had broken though Gotten close to you Wanting to tell them the truth Wanting to finally tell someone the truth Not having to bottle everything inside Letting it all out Bubbling over you give them a hint of the truth They catch the scent and want to know it all Not caring the pain inside Wanting to be there for you Wanting to help you like you’ve helped them Revealing the emotions Exposing yourself Feeling naked when the words leave your mouth Like your telling a secret never to be told Tears falling to the floor Evaporating as soon as it hits Feeling the tension inside Releasing everything bottled Removing the mask No more smile Just pain and sadness Letting it all out for the first time To the one special person Not wanting to loose them after spilling your guts Hoping you have not scared them away Needing them as a lifeline

Traveling through the hidden Past rivers Climbing mountains Trying to reach the final destination A hero’s journey Walking for hours Days Weeks Getting to know one’s self Becoming in tune with nature Knowing your inner peace To get to the final destination To face the last battle Following nature’s path Reaching an old bridge Falling apart and covered in plants Taking a moment to pause Take a breath and prepare for the final decent Bracing oneself for the final fight Seeing the sky Feeling the breeze Finishing the travel to the hidden castle Lost by time In a place of serenity Reaching the gates Opening the doors Seeing what is waiting inside

Looking Up

Walking around in the night in the dark Looking down at the ground Going through a forest of pine and snow Moving slow as the hill rise higher Coming up to a clearing Feeling slow Feeling cold Seeing your breath Wanting to go back to the cabin and sit by the fire Loosing feeling in limbs but you keep pushing Keep moving And then you just stop Right in the middle Snow knee high Fingers frozen But looking up Staring at the dark black sky Looking at the stars No clouds just miles of space But then it changes Black turning to a deep blue Then the sky turns bright The sky has bright streaks of light Lots of colors blanket the earth Red Green Blue So beautiful So stunning Moving around like living art Mesmerizing it transcends you Forgetting in the cold Feeling warm inside Only lasting for a short time and then it’s over Wishing to see it again Wanting to capture the moment

Fairies and pixies Dragon fights Forests of mystery In the land of untold stories Be prepared and warned for a tale Enchanted roses Flying carpets Poisoned apples Hidden towers with maidens Can be the most wondrous places but also the scariest With mushrooms and rivers Hearing whispers of the night Goblins and wizards Villains and heroes Happily ever after’s They all have to start somewhere We know the stories we’ve heard the legends But they are not true They are just imaginations Fabricated for our enjoyment Making reality seem bland and boring Convincing people to escape No one tells the tales that end in sadness They tell the ones where the princess gets a prince And ends in happily ever after But those don’t exist Leading children into believing in the unknown That it exists That life will be like that
