Henry’s Personality

Courageous. Selfless. Stoic.

Henry was taught to never back down in the face of adversary. He was taught to stand up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves and to speak for those who could not find their own voice. He was told to never stand idly by in the presence of evil. He was told that it’s okay to be scared. Because Nelson Mandela had once said that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.

Henry always put the needs of others before his own. He’d give you the shirt off his back in a blizzard. He was mentally stronger than most 17 year olds. He couldn’t stand to see others suffer and would do anything he could to ease or mend their pain.

Henry suffered brain cancer at a young age. He had to learn to be strong if he wanted to survive. He attributes this to his ability to endure pain and hardship without showing it or complaining.
