Misunderstood
“Bella, come on!” My mother shouted. “Coming.” I said, bored of going to school. When I got downstairs, I put on my shoes and got on the bus.
~Later
“Hey, Bel! How’s it goin’?” Jasper said, walking next to me in the hall. I turned towards him, startled. “Oh, good. I have to get to class now.” I said as I hurried in ahead of him.
“Bel, is something wrong?” He asked me after school because we walk together home. Even though I take the bus to school, I walk home with Jasper. “No, I’m fine.” I said a *little* too quick. Of course he noticed it. “What is it.” He said in a tone that I couldn’t escape.
“I… My mom is just nagging me about my grades.”
“What are your grades? How bad could they be?”
“B’s and C’s. She wants A’s. A+‘s best, A-‘s worst.”
“Oh, Bel. It’s alright.”
“But she doesn’t see it that way.”
~Later
“BELLADONNA MARIE LEA SMITH! GET DOWN HERE.” Her mom shouted. Oh no, I thought. I reluctantly walked down the stairs to meet my mother’s furious face. “You have a D+. I WANT A’S. Not D’s.”
“Mom, I can explain-“
“Okay then, explain.”
So I explained what happened about my grades. Her gaze softened a little. “Alrighty, then. But you should still work on getting that D into a C or B or even better, and A.
~Later
“Bel, you seem… Happier.”
“Yeah, I told my mom what happened and it’s all good.”
“Good!” He said before he hugged me.
Then he tutored me.
Then I got all A’s.
Then me and my mom were closer.
Then me and Jasper were closer than ever.
Then we were torn apart.
Then I went to college.
Then we met again.
Then I got a house.
Then I got him back.
Then life went on.
Life goes on.
And on…
And on…
And on.
