“Nothing.”

This time at least

This time I just sat with my head betwixt my knees

To erase the image from my brain

To pretend that everything was still the same

That I was getting better and wouldn’t resort to that pain

“What did you do?!”

Nothing, I swear!

I just thought about it, you know

Thought about how it would feel

How perfect it would be

The line is so straight

A protuding part of my vein

Something, this time

But that was last summer, August 5th, or was it 9th?

I wish I could erase that day, oh how I wish
