POEM STARTER

Submitted by HardCoreWriter

‘If desires are a flame, then I am a wildfire.’

Use this line to inspire a poem or short story.

Wildfire

You lit a spark, I brought the storm,

No rules, no chains, just heat and form.

You whispered “stay,” I broke the night,

With burning lips and neon light.

You saw the glow, you struck the flame,

But now you only call my name…

Through smoke and shadow, soft and dire,

You knew me best as wildfire.

’Cause I don’t love in measured lines,

I crash like waves, I steal like time.

And if your heart’s a fragile wire…

Don’t hold me close, I’m wildfire.

You tried to hold what won’t be still,

A touch, a glance, a hungry will.

I warned you once, but not too loud,

Desire speaks best without a crowd.

You watched me burn and still you stayed,

So don’t pretend you were afraid.

You fed the flame, you fanned it higher…

Now all that’s left is wildfire.

’Cause I don’t love in measured lines,

I crash like waves, I steal like time.

And if your heart’s a fragile wire…

Don’t hold me close, I’m wildfire.

I never promised I’d be kind,

Just that I’d never stay confined.

You touched a flame, you knew the cost…

You never lose what you never lost.

I don’t love in measured lines,

I crash like waves, I steal like time.

And if your heart’s a fragile wire,

Don’t hold me close…

I’m wildfire.
