Always trying, always failing, mess is everywhere, Bottle, beakers, tubes, even chemicals in my hair. Always searching for an answer, never getting far, Notebooks of ideas, some quite good, some just bizarre. Always hoping for a breakthrough, but there never is, The most I ever get is a nice pop or bang or whizz. Alchemy is difficult, it never seems to work, Any time I think I'm close, it all just goes beserk Gold or an elixir, either would be nice, And both I have worked hard on, so either would suffice. With all the modern tech, I thought eureka would be easy, Instead the only gain is feeling really rather queasy. Maybe it's just not for me, and just not meant to be, Will anyone achieve it? We’ll just have to wait and see.
