When I Look In The Mirror
When I look in the mirror, I see the world for me.
When I look in the mirror, I see what’s meant to be. In this endless world I am here, in front of a mirror.
When I look in the mirror, I see my bed hair and yellow teeth. I see my crooked glasses and my lips chapped. I see the imperfections that lie on the outside. My dirty face stares back at me. I try to look past these imperfections, but it’s what everyone sees.
“I need to be like her, she’s smart.”
“I need to be like him, he’s perfect.”
The comparisons run our daily lives, our little imperfections take control. What matters is on the inside.
When I look in my heart, I see the world that is me.
When I look in my heart, I see what I’m meant to be.
When I look in my heart I see compassion and kindness. When I look in my heart I see ambition and bravery. I see the perfect person that I’m meant to be. No comparasions in my heart, it is true and free.
When I look in the mirror I see imperfection, but when I look in my heart I see me.
