Okay so I saw this prompt a while ago and I started writing this, but since I saw it again I’ll give you a sneak peak lol.
“But, but this is hell.” I whispered. I could feel my skin burning from the heat of this underworld. The original destination was the golden gates outside of heaven.
“Sorry kid. It seems your good deeds sucked!” Flame laughed maniacally.
I guess that bad deed was too horrible, too awful for heaven. I need to get out of here. I thought as I slowly walked towards the fiery pits of hell.
I have absolutely no clue on what to call this. If you have any ideas you can tell me. (I can and will give you credit!)
Embarrassing things, I’ve done a lot. More than I can count.
“Juliette Gordon Low will be on the penny.” My mom said.
**“But she’s dead.” I said, “She can’t stand on a penny!” **
Embarrassing things, I’ve done a lot. More than I can count.
“Hand me the mayo please.” My mom had said.
**I handed her the mustard and said, “I almost gave you the mayo.” **
Embarrassing things, I’ve done a lot. More than I can count.
I got an iPad for Christmas right after getting an Apple pen. “But now I have two Apple pens!” I had thought.
“Read the side- Generation 9 iPad!” My dad had told me.
Embarrassing things, I’ve done a lot. More than I can count.
Everyone wants to judge, but no one wants to listen.
Me and my friends used to play this game, “We Listen And We Dont Judge” everyday it was the same.
“We listen and we don’t judge.” We would all say.
“One time I broke a vase, but I blamed it on the dog and my parents grounded me for a day.”
“We listen and we don’t judge.” We would all tell.
“I told my parents I was sick, but really I just wanted to call my friend Mel.”
Through of all of these I never judged. Everyone makes mistakes, I won’t hold a grudge.
“We listen and we don’t judge.”We would all agree.
“One time I lied to you guys about my grades.” They then gasped at me.
“Lie to us? How could you!?” Their tones made me very blue.
“Get out of here, you big fat liar!” They told me. I said goodbye to them and their dog, Jolie.
Everyone wants to judge, but no one wants to listen.
She’s not who she says she is. Meteorologist, chef, psychologist. She wears the hat of weather and food. She wears the of the mind deep inside.
She’s not who she says she is. Teacher, preacher, jobs of all kinds. She prays and teaches the little, carefree minds. So many hats so many opportunities yet none of them suit her just right. Vets are to animal-y and Doctors are to people-y. Waiter take notes and lifeguards sit in the sun all day
The perfect hat for her, the one that sits just right, is the job of a mother, doing all of the above. She protects, preaches, teaches, serves, answers questions, builds toys and that isn’t all. She’s cooks and cleans until the day is through, loving her children just like a great mother would do.
Thanks for wearing all of those hats, it sure wasn’t easy balancing them all on top of your head! :)
Now and then are two different things. Then this sentence had a different meaning.
“Your time is up. Better run!” I screamed as me and my classmates darted across the field. My messy pigtails and pink unicorn shirt blowing in the cool breeze. We darted across the field to the shady tree that glistened in the sun, our rainbow light up shoes shingling brightly. We enjoyed our school days, fun lessons and friendly faces.
Now and then are two different things.** Now** this sentence has a different meaning.
“Your time is up. Better run.” A hooded figure whispered menacingly. My high brunette ponytail bouncing as I sprint across the cold hard pavement towards refuge. My red and black jumpsuit stretches and my fitness watch beeps as I inch closer and closer till I am safe.
Then I would have preferred this exciting lifestyle, but now I yearn for a simpler time where life was safe and good.
This is more a writing about who are we when no one is watching.
Who are we when no one’s watching? Are we are best selves, following the rules? Are we showing kindness to the world by picking up that piece of litter when no one sees?
Are we living by looking for reward? Are we looking for something in return to our kindness?
I need to admit I live by this. Looking for reward when it pays to be kind is a bad habit. Integrity is what we need.
Integrity - Doing the right thing even when no one is watching
Integrity is what we need more in life. Being selfless and wanting more for others.
No one changes in one day. That’s why we start now. Look for the reward in others lives other than in yourself.
Piece of plastic or other litter? You just saved a sea turtle’s life.
Helped that old women cross the street? You just made her day a whole lot easier. Maybe no one was watching, but you did something good.
Maybe something to take away from this is do it like your grandma was watching. Would you still do that bad thing with your grandma watching? I didn’t think so. So do the good thing - Make your grandma proud.
When I look in the mirror, I see the world for me.
When I look in the mirror, I see what’s meant to be. In this endless world I am here, in front of a mirror.
When I look in the mirror, I see my bed hair and yellow teeth. I see my crooked glasses and my lips chapped. I see the imperfections that lie on the outside. My dirty face stares back at me. I try to look past these imperfections, but it’s what everyone sees.
“I need to be like her, she’s smart.” “I need to be like him, he’s perfect.”
The comparisons run our daily lives, our little imperfections take control. What matters is on the inside.
When I look in my heart, I see the world that is me.
When I look in my heart, I see what I’m meant to be.
When I look in my heart I see compassion and kindness. When I look in my heart I see ambition and bravery. I see the perfect person that I’m meant to be. No comparasions in my heart, it is true and free.
When I look in the mirror I see imperfection, but when I look in my heart I see me.
I don’t know Morse code, but I know enough that it is. This flickering streetlight was on my last nerve, but this could mean the end of the world to someone.
Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot - H
Dot - E
A bunch of dots? What could that mean to me? The dots were quick flickers, annoying you see. HE could mean many things. But HE wasn’t the end of the flickering.
Dot, Dash, Dot, Dot - L
Dot, Dash, Dash, Dot - P
A bunch of dots and dashes? What could that mean to me? The dashes were long flickers. Not as annoying, but pissing me off.
HELP was the silent cry of a hostage. Praying that someone would see.
Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot - H
**Dot - E **
Dot, Dash, Dot, Dot - L
Dot, Dash, Dash, Dot - P
It turned off for a second, cold and dark as night. Then it flickered once more.
Dash, Dash - M
Dot - E
HELP ME was the silent scream of the hostage. Praying that someone would see.
“Why hello there Angelica…” Mr. Korbian smiled, the crack in his skull growing even further. “I heard about your grave…it seems your ceremony was today, yet you have already grown moss, and have acquired wilted roses.”
Angelica stared menacingly. Mr. Korbian was **not **to be messed with. His millennia old grave still sat there. He scared off other little ghosts and was the meanest one in the graveyard. But he was just an ordinary ghost. Just cause your old doesn’t mean you’re good. Some one should put some sense into his head, but that dream was as useful as a bag of bones. No one understood, not even himself, that he was just a ghost and his grave, nothing more.
**“You have ninety seconds to hide. If you are found, you die. Good luck.” **
Well what could that mean? Is this the purge? The squid game? 90 seconds isn’t enough time!
**“You have ninety seconds to hide. If you are found, you die. Good luck.” **
90 seconds? That’s only a minute and 30 seconds. Not far enough to go anywhere safe. 90 seconds isn’t enough time. 90 seconds will never be enough.
In 90 seconds 180 people die. In 90 seconds 1.5 Americans get divorced. 90 seconds can change the world, and thats all that’s given to hide away from the seeker.
In 90 seconds 3 people die from fatal car accidents. In 90 seconds 9 people are diagnosed with diseases, such as AIDS/HIV. In 90 seconds 18 people will die of starvation.
This world is horrible, and all this can happen in 90 seconds. 90 seconds and your life could be over.
90 seconds isn’t enough time, and it won’t ever be.
