shapeshifter at your command,

my brain melding with the thoughts you put

into words,

who do you want me to be?

i want to be yours, so tell me who i

need to be today

i could be silly,

i could be stoic and poised,

elegant,

crazy

sad

jealous

i can take taylor swift

off my playlists

i can watch star wars in its entirety,

movie after movie

i can take notes to remember it all,

that way you can’t tell me i’m not

paying attention

the glue holding this other person will crack,

eventually,

it’s already begun

you’ll see the bubbles in my heart,

the way my head soars in space

you’ll know that i can’t remember anything

for the life of me

you’ll see the way i grin,

and then you’ll see the way i fall at night,

the tears that trickle onto my phone screen

as i type away everything that’s wrong with me

because what if im not who you want me to be?

every day im washed over with a wave of fear,

what happens when this ends?

what will i have done to make you leave me?

is it because i wasn’t who wanted me to be?

you say that you love me for me,

but how could you when you haven’t seen

me?

oh but you have, haven’t you?

because i ask you to tell me all the things

you love about me,

and you say you love that i’m

bubbly energetic spacey can’t remember things for the life of me but try anyway love so strongly that it hurts writing and writing music blasting in my ears dramatic and giggly when i’m tired

you see me, even when i didn’t want to be seen
