POEM STARTER
Submitted by Feywild
Write a poem on the theme of sacrifices.
Isn’t It
My gorgeous lady
The queen of my life
At the end of the pit you sit
Waiting for my life
The thrill you send through my veins pumps my courage
And the crowd brings the fight
Soon I will see you
If I make this move right
Deep down the mountainside
Far past the sea
Is a solid rock
All I can see
I’ve given you rations
Burning my belongings
So why do I seem trapped
When making my final offering?
Is a blank slate at the end
All I’ll ever see?
Of course not
The devil must be messing with me
My faith in you in unbinding, my lady
I would never back away from the ledge
I clutch my heart and hold my hand near my chest
I startle forward, a hand on my backside
Sudden tendrils of cold fly through my insides
Down, down into the deep pit
It should feel right
But this isn’t it
