Blind Sparks

The fuse had been there the whole time. Always there, always watching, waiting. But when it was lit, people ran. They ran because they chose to ignore the fact that the fuse had been there the whole time and was only just now erupting in flames. They ran because they knew they had lit it. A fuse can’t light itself, for even the smallest and most irrelevant sparks can start a wildfire. It was never the fuse’s fault, no matter how much people want to blame it. The fuse had beeen their the whole time, and it was at the fault of the sparks for not seeing it.
