Shiloh leaped over a rock.

She skidded into the camp and attacked a wolf she knew didn't belong.

_Even if it risks my life in the process._

A bigger, battlescared wolf tackled her off the other. It held her to the ground and dug it's sharpened claws into her throat.

_I can't let anyone else do what I was meant to._

"Shiloh!"

_It'll ruin everything I've worked so hard for._

"Get off her!"

_I don't want to hurt anyone._

"Shiloh, what are you doing?!"

_But somehow, I always do._

"No! Shiloh, you selfless idiot!"

_But maybe that's what family is about?_

The invading wolves ran off laughing. They had done what they came to do.

_Giving yourself up for those you love, no matter how much it kills them. In the end, that's what matters._
