The Land Above

The young child looked forward at the clouds. “Mommy, are the whales migrating our way?” The young boy said, while looking up at his mother. The woman looked at the sky whales with astonishment. In all of her life on Sky Isle Sydney she had seen only probably three whales in person, but now she was seeing about twenty to twenty five and in close proximity as well.

“Y-Yes I guess so.” She took a deep breath and looked her son in the eyes. “You need to run inside now for mommy. Can you do that for me?”

“But, I don’t want to. The whales are so pretty…” The boy knew from the way his mother looked at him that she was being completely serious. The boy reluctantly turned to go back into their hut, but he wasn’t happy about it.

Soon the only view that the sky island possessed was the ginormous whales, which went as far as almost blocking out the sun light. The woman started to hyperventilate as she saw a mounted sky eel start to rise next to the whales. ‘It’s HIM’ she thought furiously. “I told you to stay away from me!” The woman screamed to the man riding the eel, but the rider only laughed. Laughter that would only get louder. Laughter that the woman would later have engraved into her brain.
