Whose thoughts sink into the walls of my mind

Like cigarette smoke it embeds itself in the deepest layers of my soul.

With no solution to remove its infectious stench

I’ve created a monster that lives inside my heart

Whose fingers grip with terror and malice

Bitterness swallows it whole

Though it takes and leaves darkness in its wake

The monster is my only friend
