You could use metaphors, imagery, and appeal to the senses, to really capture the feel of a city.
Life In The City
The city is beautiful at night
All around there are lights
The dogs bark in the alleyways with fright
While others fight with all their might
Shoppers are busy
And drunks are dizzy
And the air is chilly
No one ever sleeps in the city
