WRITING OBSTACLE
Submitted by Maranda Quinn
Show a powerful emotion – love, grief, rage - in a quiet, everyday moment.
Instead of writing a dramatic and drawn out scene, think about how subtle actions and sensory details can carry the weight of the feeling.
Crash out
And rage is building up inside me once again,
coming out in the most horrific ways.
I take the blade and slash my leg,
I throw metal across the room while silently losing my mind.
I can’t let it out, nobody can know.
So silently, i’ll ruin all the work ive done,
Ive come so far, only to ruin the work.
No going back, the damage has been done.
Constantly staring at me is the urge to end it all.
Nothing even matters anymore anyway, why should I care?
My mind treats this like a undogable dare.
