the world will burn

i feel it in my soul when

anger flares,

not exactly because you

made me mad

but because it’s frustrating to

sit here.

i mean, you’re in love-

she’s in love!

and so is he!!

and what do

i do:

sit and watch

a flame flicker out

a wind too strong

the water too deep,

love too far

silence too vast

so it is frustration

the sparks the tears

in my eyes,

and hurt that has

my hollow chest caving,

i grab kindling

and shove it in the embers

the fire ignites fast

and now i’ll let it spread.

i will watch as

the world will burn
