Hidden Castle

Tales rumored of the castle hidden by the mountains in the clouds.

Home to the royal family, centuries old. disconnected from a once thriving civilization, now separated.

Dan made his way past the brush, and emerged alongside the edge of a cliff, a bridge was supported from a singular thin rope.

Above the bridge was a waterfall and above that, a beautiful grey brick castle spiraling into the cloudy sky.

He stared in awe of the fairy tale-like scene.

He sat and watched the golden sun dip below the sea, when out of nowhere he noticed somebody approach the bridge from the other side.

She carefully jumped from rock to rock across the water fall, only stopping to push her long black hair out of her face. She wore a simple cotton white dress.

Dan stood, and watched as she came closer to the bridge.

She made it to the edge and stared back at Dan.

“Who are you?”

She yelled across the sea

“I am Dan. I have come in search of your family’s advice.”

“Follow the river East, and arrive at our castle.” She replies.

Dan begins his journey east, following the winding rushing river, listening to the songs of singing birds.

A day passes and Dan arrives at the castle’s great entrance. The doors are intricately carved with various flowers, birds and leaves.

He knocks. The sound resonates like a hallow drum.

The door creaks open, just enough for the girl to peek her head through. Up close her eyes are bright and her face is young.

“Hello Dan. Would you like to meet my family?”

“Yes, thank you.”

“My pleasure.”

She makes a small curtesy and invites him into the expansive room. Where he waits while she gathers her family.

When they enter they scold the girl.

“How could you let him in here?.”

The man sighs. A Woman you assume to be wife of the man enters.

“To what do we owe your visit?” The woman asks coldly.

“I seek your advice your highness. The village is in disarray, leaving us to desperate for a solution, we believe you are our last hope.”

The lady scoffed and shoved Dan out the door.

“Not my problem. I thought you might sell me cookies or something.”

“Bye.” The man yells

And just like that the door slams in your face.

“Oh man.”

The villiage is doomed. He thinks to himself.

He decides to wander around and find somewhere else to live since his village is failing.

He ends up in a small farming town and even gets a job at the gas station. He buys a cute puppy named Gerold and lives happily ever after.
