Alone
Talk about a bobbly face. Peaceful. Cheerful
Like a humming baby
In light,
We are colorful butterflies
We are free. We fly
Our faces radiates. Wonderfully facaded
We grin from ear to ear
Like a bird released from its cage
We fly, bounce, and roll
Yet, life happens in the dark
The inescapable reality
We cower in the corner
A tiny place we could ever catch a breath
Legs crossed, heads bent, bodies shivering, hairs all over the floor, eyes bloodshot
We cry till there’s tear no more
Completely broken and shattered
From all the rays of life
We cry for our souls
We shout for our hearts
We crawl for our bones
Melting in the darkness of our bloods
We wished it was different
We wished it was a dream
We wished we were in a deep slumber
That it all fades as we awaken
But reality sucks
It hits us like a rising tornado
Break our bones and stones to dust
Yet we forever hold on to that tiny hope
That it’ll eventually get better
Our souls remain tired
Our hearts getting brighter
So we step into dawn
Facaded faces, facaded smiles, facaded fear, facaded strength
For those we love, we are cheerful
May the souls find peace—an underestimated grace
