Maze Of Our Own Creation (Unfinished)

“Isaac? Isaac?!”


My voice echoed out around me, bouncing back to me off the tall, imposing stone walls. Isaac is my best friend, the only thing keeping me alive, and our navigator. I was the inspiration and entertainment, that was until our party got captured in an unknown and hostile kingdom.


We were all outsiders, and this kingdom wanted their bloodlines pure and untainted by the presence of unwanted travelers. They threw us all in the dungeons to rot, before they decided to separate us all into different punishments to get rid of us. Me and Isaac just happened to get tossed in the same one on opposite ends.


I tried to shout more but it only hurt me, my throat was dry and my voice was too hoarse to be heard. I saw a fork ahead in the maze and stopped, sliding down against a wall and weakly pulling my knees to my chest. “Its hopeless… I don’t think I’m ever going to find him… I can’t leave without-“ I broke into sobs. I was so emotionally and physically drained, I couldn’t take it.


But suddenly, I heard shouting. I was too much of a mess to be able to make out what was being said, and as I looked up, I felt someone wrap their arms around me in a hug and lift me to my feet. I blinked the tears from my eyes
