Tea Time
As I walk up the steps, to the unavoidable medical place
The pain I am feeling inside, only there not on my face
The white fresh swish of the lab coat, appears at the door
With a clip board and a sideways smile, she says no more
She had green eyes like a cat, and moved to get to her seat
Sticking out her hand to greet me, so your first name is Pete
As we spoke to each other, in a quiet hushed medical sort of tone
It seems that she was understanding me, my problem I’m alone
My heartbeat and blood pressure, were within the normal range
As I eat my daily food by myself, the menus and recipes I arrange
She ordered a untrasound of my heart, when she heard a sound
After the test was read, and the Cardiologist result came around
It seems the test showed a broken heart, that happened long ago
My bride left me at the alter, where she is gone I will never know
I know just the thing, to mend and stitch your unloved broken heart
Let’s begin with a cup of coffee or tea, this is a great way to start
