Away, they ran,

Their backs they turned

From the Lord their God

And His mighty hand.

They were freed from their captors

Of 400 years,

Asked to have faith that the Lord was near.

They praised His Name,

Fell on their knees in worship,

And realized that idols were worthless.

Yet, again, they turned their backs,

Falling once more to idols,

Their faith gone for miles.

Away, they ran,

Their backs they turned

From the Lord their God

And His mighty hand.
