Wonder
Do you ever wonder
What would be the plunder
To be the sun that burns in the sky?
While bright and majestic
With a pull so magnetic
Yet no one ever stops by.
For in distance you give life
In closeness you take it
With your fire that burns so ever-bright.
Do you think it would be lonely
To be the only
Star that lights our days and nights?
To be admired from afar
But the most admiration by far
Is when the moon brings the darkness of night.
Blocking out the suns light
While only for a time
Enveloping the earth in a cool embrace.
With a circle of light
To show it is not night
The eclipse covers your face.
Crowds start to gather
And you sense joy and laughter
As they watch you, you sense an odd joy.
For even obstructed
They look up above them
To watch the splendor of you.
