Eros’ Tricks
Thunder struck in the distance. Lightning flashed. Leah shivered. Zeus was getting closer. Leah knew that she shouldn’t have listen to Eros when he came to her with his crazy scheme. She was going to take the fall for stealing Zeus’ lightning bolt. The punishment for such a thing would be an eternity in Tartarus. Leah did not want to go back to Tartarus, it was so dark and painful. She had been trying to avoid the Greek Gods all together after she finally escaped that place. The gods had been content leaving her alone too. Until Eros came. He was the reason she got in trouble the first time. He told her that he was taking her somewhere special. She had no idea what he was planning and now she had to run for her life because of him. She absolutely hated him from the moment she realized what he was doing when they were in the throne room. Unfortunately, he was her only way to avoid getting caught by Zeus. Lightning struck again, as the thunderstorm raged around them. Leah realized just how angry Zeus was with her. Eros’ wings spread out, and Leah walked towards him, telling him that flying out of there would be catastrophic for the both of them in that thunderstorm. He then told her, “not if the thief of Zeus’ light in bolt is right here.” Leah was confused for a moment, but then gave him a look of absolute betrayal. She knew she should have expected this, but it still hurt, quite a bit. Eros was playing his mother’s servant again. Leah hated Eros, with all the ways he played with her heart, but she hated the manipulative and entitled brat who called herself the goddess of love even more. She wanted all of this done, told her son to use Leah, but couldn’t take enough time looking away from a mirror or the actual effort and planning to actually do any of it. And none of the gods would punish her because they can not look beyond her beauty to see the person that she is. Eros flew away, and Leah resigned herself to her fate. She couldn’t stand going back to that place, but it was better than being out in the world, only to played by Eros and the goddess of love again. The thunder shook the ground as a livid Zeus landed in front of her.
