The Amazon Rainforest
Blood dripping from cotton soft leaves,
Fresh tears falling from the ones who grieve
We scream Run run run,
Except nobody knows what from
Our past is now crumbling ,
It’s like the ground won’t stop rumbling
I watch as the flowers start to rot,
From all the smoke that ties my throat in a knot
The forest canopy comes tumbling to the ground,
As trees fall from all around
Big machines keep coming,
Nobody stops running
We swing from the branches,
The birds fly far away, bleeding from all the scratches
Why do we have to leave our home,
The only thing we have always known?
Once we are gone where do we go?
they take our trees and leave us so low
Although we can adapt it won’t be the same,
These humans with no names
They destroy our homes and take claims,
With no shame, why is there no shame?
The sky full of stars seemed dead and cold,
A place once so magical now hurt to behold.
