Distrust Within The Darkness
“Is he a knight in shining armour or is he an executioner? Because I’ve met both, and I assure you, the executioner was more charming.” Arfir would have folded his arms at that moment in time, but the tug of chains reminded him he was a bit less free then he wanted to be.
The hooded figure stood in front of him laughed, although no mirth seemed to leave his lips, only bitterness and distrust.
“The Master is much too complex to fit into a category you commonfolk use.” He spat. Moonlight gleamed above them, the only light source stopping them from walking into things.
Arfir shrugged. “Maybe me and your Master are more alike than you think. We both are constantly put into such a simple category. Cause I’m sorry to say, but I’m not one of the commonfolk.”
“You’re a thief.” The hooded figure growled, standing up from his seated position beside a tree. “And therefore you are petty and dishonest.”
A frivolous laugh erupted from Arfir’s mouth as he attempted to slap his knee and failed, stumbling and almost falling face-first.
“Dishonest is my middle name…” Arfir began, trying to catch his breath. “After ravishingly handsome.” He flicked his hair dramatically, sending dirt in all directions. It was hard to tell what the hooded figures reaction was, but it was easy to imagine a tight grimace underneath the shadow of his cloak.
“You’re infuriating.” The figure finally said.
Arfir chuckled, still trying to compose himself. “That’s my favourite compliment!”
