POEM STARTER
Poison.
Write a descriptive poem about something poisonous, and its effect on its target. This could be literal or metaphorical.
Poison
I am divine I no longer poison my mind
Drained my cup
Nothing to do with luck
Broke myself out of my funk
Drank my own blood
I will not consume the gas fumes
All out of self-love
Lesson learned
Bridges burned
Nothing to do with you
People left so I’ll leave them there
My burdens to bare
It’s all out of self-care
I became aware
Fill my cup full of self-love
Released the doves
Vines of the wine killed my cells
The hangovers were hell
So I had to ring the bell
Escape from my internal shell
Alcohol almost killed me
I rose from my grave
No longer a salve to my own cage
Buried my anger and rage
Now we turned the page
Time for the next chapter before my rapture
